For the art collecting soul who wishes to stand apart from the crowd with a piece of functional art. The Limited Edition is designed and hand-painted by contemporary artist and color theorist R. Nelson Parrish. Every year the Alaska native creates a new rendition to be made available to the select few who feel that not only is a sustainable product important, but who also want to incorporate functional art into their quiver (only 50 pair are made in each design). This year's Limited Edition was inspired by a backcountry dawn patrol session by Soul Poles founder Bryon Friedman. Friedman sent the images from the beautiful powder infused sunrise to Parrish who then extracted the colors and painted them onto the bamboo. Hence the title "Wasatch Sunrise."Available in multiple length sizes and 2 basket sizes (In Bounds - 75mm and Backcountry - 93mm)

Crazy cool, high performance gear that helps protect the mountains we love
Soul Poles - Bryon Friedman and Erik Schlopy
After years on the U.S. Ski Team traveling and busting through copious amounts of gear, both three-time Olympian Erik Schlopy and World Cup veteran Bryon Friedman perceived a need for a company focused on promoting environmental consciousness and social responsibility in the ski industry. Irregular snow years were becoming the new norm and climate change needed to be brought to the forefront of the conversation via durable, renewable, and beautifully iconic products. The result was Soul Poles - a company proving once and for all that high performance and sustainability can and do go hand in hand. Whatever the demands may be that you place on your gear, we're betting these guys demand more. Produced in the "Soul Shop" of Park City, Utah these ridiculously cool looking poles are perfect for any skiier seeking an alternative from the mountain of mass produced sameness without sacrificing the quality needed to maximize their ability on the slopes. We asked the Soul Poles crew what they loved, and they replied: "White mornings, remote peaks, group shred sessions, and back country booters." Amen boys, amen.
Process & Materials
These are serious poles designed and tested by professional skiers who demand all mountain functionality. In a third party lab test these 100% biodegradable direct-trade bamboo poles tested up to 25% stronger than aluminum poles, and are comparable or lighter than most aluminum poles on the market. Grips made from recycled plastic are ergonomically designed to cup the palm of your hand as well as provide ample surface area on top to help you navigate through the lift line or push you to your favorite backcountry destination. Recycled plastic straps are strong, light, and complete with a Soul Poles logo inlay and our tips are locally machined from post-consumer aluminum and pressure fit with a steel insert to ensure stability in firm conditions. 100% made in U.S.A.
