The Luum Light pendant is an exercise in translating the repeating algorithmic forms generated by nature - from flowers to clouds to snowflakes - into man made design. While paying homage to Mid-Century European modernist style, Dutch designer Sander Bakker captures the contemporary aesthetics of mathematics in nature in this stunning piece.
Luum’s pure white appearance softens once switched on and it reduces the harsh light of most light bulbs into a pleasant glow. Its exceptional materials are complemented by the quality of it's hardware, including the award winning CableCup ceiling canopy.
Luum is produced and assembled (by hand) in the U.S.A. The first edition of fifty lamps is signed, certified and numbered by the designer.MADE TO ORDER, MAY TAKE 2-3 WEEKS TO SHIP

Splinter Seed - Sander Bakker
Splinter Seed embodies the very best of eco-conscious design. Conceived in 2010 by Dutch designer Sander Bakker, Splinter Seed creates products that are both inspired by and respectful of nature by seamlessly integrating high design with low impact processes. Sander's work blends elements of both parametric and algorithmic design, which occurs when seemingly simple building blocks (like the petals on a flower or ice-crystals in a snowflake) are repeated to create complexly beautiful forms .
The result is literally enlightening...
